Akira Yuyama (湯山 昭 Yuyama Akira; Hiratsuka, 9 september 1932) is een Japans componist.
Yuyama studeerde aan de Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (東京藝術大学 Tōkyō Gei-jutsu Daigaku) in Tokio, nu: Tokyo University of the Arts bij Tomojiro Ikenouchi (compositie). Hij won een 1e prijs tijdens een compositiewedstrijd georganiseerd door de Japanse publieke omroep Nippon Hoso Kyokai (NHK) en de Mainichi Newspapers Co. In 1954 won hij een 2e prijs voor zijn Strijkkwartet in een dezelfde competitie. Na het behalen van zijn diploma's werkte hij als freelance componist. Hij schrijft werken voor verschillende genres. Yuyama is lid van het bestuur van de Japanse auteursrechtsmaatschappij. In 2003 werd hij onderscheiden met de Orde van de Rijzende Zon IVe Klasse met gouden stralen en rozet onderscheiden.


Michio Mamiya (born June 29, 1929) is a Japanese composer.

Born in Hokkaido, he studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts. His interest in Japanese folk music led him to compose several choral works incorporating traditional elements. He is particularly noted for his opera: his Narukami (1974) "won a grand prix at the Salzburg Opera Festival"

Akira Miyoshi (三善 晃; January 10, 1933 – 4 October 2013) was a Japanese composer.
Miyoshi was born in Suginami, Tokyo. He was a child prodigy on the piano, studying with Kozaburo Hirai and Tomojiro Ikenouchi. He studied French literature at the University of Tokyo, and then studied composition with Henri Challan and Raymond Gallois-Montbrun at the Paris Conservatory from 1955 to 1957. He was very influenced by Henri Dutilleux. He returned to Japan in 1957 and graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1960. In 1965, he became a professor at the Toho Gakuen School of Music. In 1996, Miyoshi was awarded the Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French Government. In 1999, he received the 31st Suntory Music Award. He received the Otaka prize six times for his compositions.
